Saints Consider Leandro Trossard Move

Southampton are showing an interest in Genk forward Leandro Trossard, reports claim.

The Saints have struggled in the attacking department over the past couple of seasons and they have only managed to find the back of the net six times in the Premier League this season, leaving the club as the joint-third lowest scorers.

England international Danny Ings is the only one of the five recognised strikers in the squad to score this term, with Charlie Austin, Manolo Gabbiadini, Shane Long and Sam Gallagher yet to get off the mark.

It is now being claimed manager Mark Hughes is eyeing up reinforcements for the January transfer window and Belgium Under-21 international Trossard is believed to be high on his wishlist.

The 23-year-old forward has been in impressive form for Genk this season, scoring eight goals from 10 league appearances, and he is seen as a natural replacement for Dusan Tadic, who joined Ajax in the summer.

An offer around £12million could be enough to land Trossard although Southampton are expected to face competition from a number of European clubs.
