Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has rubbished claims that he could up sticks and join rivals Manchester United. Reports emerged last week suggesting that Sane could end his time at City in favour of a move to Old Trafford after struggling to tie down a regular starting berth this season.
Sane scored 10 times in 32 Premier League appearances to help the Citizens land the title last term, however, he was left out by Guardiola in the early stages of 2018-19.
The German has recently found himself in the starting XI more often and insists the rumours are completely false.
Sane said: “That won’t happen! That won’t happen! That won’t happen at all. I am really happy here and I’m on the right side.”
The former Schalke man started Sunday’s 6-1 thrashing of Southampton, netting in the final moments, and he insists he will continue to fight for his spot at the Etihad.
He added: “I have not been worried at all. I know what they want from me and what they expect from me and I will just try to work hard. “I always enjoy myself. To play with these players under this coach is a really good feeling and everyone can see we enjoy it all together, playing with each other. It’s fun to play with this team.”
