Schurrle Issues Cottagers Points Demand

Andre Schurrle has warned Fulham “have to pick up points” from their upcoming games against Bournemouth and Huddersfield. The Cottagers slipped into the Premier League relegation places on Saturday after a 4-2 defeat at Cardiff – their fourth loss in the last five games – which moved the Bluebirds ahead of them on goal difference in the final position of safety.

Schurrle had opened the scoring with a sublime 30-yard effort before Ryan Sessegnon equalised to make it 2-2 at half-time.

But Fulham’s porous defence was again their undoing as Neil Warnock’s side eased to their first top-flight win since April 2014.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s men have now shipped 25 goals in nine matches to date, which is the second-highest ever at this stage of the season.

And Schurrle said: “It’s now a pattern for us in every game.
“We have good moments and we score and get in front, but it doesn’t take us long to get a knock on the head and we concede.

“It’s the same thing every week and the goals are too easy for the opponents.
“Everyone was quiet in the dressing room afterwards, because we know it’s not easy to get out of the bottom three.

“The next two games (against Bournemouth and Huddersfield) are very crucial and we have to pick up points. Otherwise, if we need points at the end it is always very difficult.”
