Slimani Admits To Leicester Struggles

Leicester City forward Islam Slimani has admitted he struggled to get to grips with the rigors of the English game. The Algerian international is still owned by the Foxes but has decided to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.
Having struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League, Slimani has admitted the style of play in England has been difficult to adapt to after his successful spell in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon.

“In England, I had fewer chances to impress compared to Portugal,” said Slimani. “England has a very different culture, environment and climate. It’s a different place for everything.
“I’ve been through a lot of injuries in the last year and this affected my stats. In the games I played, the goals and assist numbers are not bad.”
Slimani did not have the desired impact on his Turkish debut though, playing the entire match in a 1-0 loss to mid-table outfit Yeni Malatyaspor.
