Huddersfield winger Ramadan Sobhi has returned to West Yorkshire for treatment after being called up to represent Egypt. The 21-year-old joined Huddersfield from Stoke over the summer but has struggled for minutes with the Premier League outfit.
He has made just one appearance from the bench, lasting six minutes, and was hoping to get some much-needed game time under his belt during the international break.
Despite his lack of action, Egypt boss Javier Aguirre still invited Sobhi into the camp for their Africa Cup of Nations clash with Niger on Saturday.
However, Sobhi has been forced to withdraw after sustaining a knee injury and will receive treatment back in England.
A statement from the Egyptian FA read: “The coach has allowed Ramadan Sobhi to travel back to England to complete his rehabilitation program with his club Huddersfield after learning of the details of his injury.”
