Southampton have confirmed midfielder Harrison Reed will spend the rest of the 2018-19 season on loan with Blackburn Rovers. Reed is a graduate of Southampton’s academy and he boasts 30 first-team appearances for the St Mary’s side.
However, he wasn’t set to be part of Mark Hughes’ plans this season and the top-flight club have agreed to send him out to gain further experience.
The 23-year-old turned out 39 times for Norwich in the Championship last term, scoring once, and he returns to the second tier with Blackburn.
Southampton said in a statement: “Everyone at Southampton wishes Harrison well for the coming season, while the club will be keeping a close eye on his progress at Ewood Park.”
