Reports claim Mauricio Pochettino is pondering a move for West Ham defender Declan Rice in the new year. Rice is at the centre of a tug of war between the Republic of Ireland and England for his services at international level, with the Three Lions tipped to win the battle.
He is also in the middle of negotiations over a new deal at West Ham. The 19-year-old is said to want terms worth in the region of £35,000 a week, which is said to be 10 times what he is currently on, and the Hammers appear no closer to offering anything in that region.
It has led to him being linked with a host of new clubs and Spurs are the latest to join the list.
The east Londoners have not given up hope of persuading him to sign a new deal but the signs are that he could be moving on next summer for a nominal fee.
