Scotland number eight Josh Strauss says his side are ready to take on an “emotional” Argentina side on Saturday. The Scots will be looking to bounce back after a narrow defeat last time out against South Africa, when they welcome the Pumas to Murrayfield this weekend.
Scotland thumped Argentina 44-15 in Residencia in June on their summer tour but the South Americans went on to improve during the Rugby Championship.
Strauss is adamant that nothing will be taken for granted and the Sale Sharks forward, who starts his first Test in 17 months this weekend, is ready for Argentina to be fired up for the game.
“The last outing against them was a good one, and although I wasn’t involved we’ve been analysing that game,” he said. “They’ve obviously improved a hell of a lot since that game. “Everyone has a bad day from time to time, and I think Argentina just had a bad day during the summer.
But if you look at their last few matches, they’ve been up early in most of the games. “They are a good team who come out of the blocks quickly. Latin teams are normally very emotional, very up for it, so we’re looking forward to it.”
