Tests Keep Coming For Guardiola

Pep Guardiola says Monday’s clash at Tottenham will be a big test for Man City but claims the challenges will keep coming afterwards. The Citizens head to Wembley to take on a Spurs side who are just two points behind them in the Premier League standings after a strong start to the season.

Guardiola has heaped praise on the north Londoners ahead of their latest encounter, claiming they are one of his favourite teams to watch, and he expects them to maintain their title challenge right until the end of the campaign.

While Monday’s game will put City’s title credentials to the test, Guardiola says it would be foolish to believe the level of competition will drop off in the games that follow.

He said: “Always it’s tough. It was in my first season here. I didn’t expect any more.
“But nothing is going to change my opinion of my team. I want to focus to win the game and give a good performance, knowing the quality of the Spurs side.

“But it’s not going to finish anything. After this it’s Fulham, Southampton, (Manchester) United and Shakhtar (Donetsk).”

Assessing Tottenham’s title chances, the former Barcelona and Bayern coach added: “They have a lot of international players and their base is from the English national team. They’ve a young team, a good keeper and good strikers. They have everything to be there.”
