Everton are reported to be back in the hunt for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and could make a move in January. Toffees boss Marco Silva was keen to do a deal for the player during the summer, but a move failed to materialise as he opted to stay and fight for a place in Chelsea’s star-studded line-up, something which has so far proven unsuccessful.
Funnily enough the return to form of former Everton star Ross Barkley has made things even more difficult for Loftus-Cheek and could push him towards Goodison Park when the transfer window re-opens.
Silva is keen to bolster his midfield ranks in the new year and will no doubt make a move for the England international if he is given any encouragement.
Everton would face competition with Crystal Palace, the club where Loftus-Cheek impressed on loan last season, also sure to be in the hunt should Chelsea decide to let him move on.
A loan move looks set to be the likeliest option although a permanent deal cannot be ruled out.
