Cenk Tosun says talk of a return to Besiktas on loan is nothing more than gossip and he is happy with Everton. The striker has had to deal with constant speculation over his future since arriving at Goodison Park back in January and fresh reports are doing the rounds suggesting he could head back to Turkey in the new year.
Former club Besiktas are said to be keen on taking him back for the remainder of the season, but the player insists he is happy to fight for his place with Everton. “Besiktas is my home,” he said. “But I have opened a new page in my career and I’m happy at Everton. Also the news that Beskitas is interested is gossip.”
The striker, who was signed by Sam Allardyce, has only scored two goals this season and finds himself down the pecking order under the leadership of new Toffees boss Marco Silva.
Silva is said to be on the lookout for another striker as well, and if he manages to bring one in, that could push Tosun even closer to the exit door.
