England found it tough going on the second day of the second Test in Sri Lanka as they trail by 46 runs with 10 wickets remaining. England had to survive one over at the end of the day after Sri Lanka’s tail had given them a lead with the last three wickets adding 125 runs.

England then sent Jack Leach out to open alongside Rory Burns, to protect Keaton Jennings. The visitors’ spinners bowled a mixture of unplayable deliveries in the day alongside too many four balls and would have been disappointed to see the hosts fight back having had them in trouble early on at 165-6.
With three days to go, England know they need to post a secon- innings total of at least 200 to make life hard for Sri Lanka, who will have to bat last on a deteriorating wicket.
The English side lead the three-match series 1-0 and are looking for their first away-series win under captain Joe Root.
