Manchester United’s interest in Leicester’s Harry Maguire has cooled, with club chiefs reportedly unimpressed with his performances.
The Foxes and England central defender was a priority transfer target for Jose Mourinho following his impressive summer showing for England in the World Cup in Russia, although United bosses refused to meet City’s £75m valuation in August.

That is since known to have put Mourinho’s back up, with the Portuguese tactician insistent his squad needed to be bolstered further at the centre of his rearguard.
Maguire recently penned a new deal at the King Power Stadium but the Red Devils have continued to maintain a watching brief.
However, the word coming out of the Theatre of Dreams is that United’s paymasters believe they made the right call at the time on Maguire, with nothing he has exhibited since changing their view the powerful 25-year-old was overpriced by his club.
Mourinho remains an admirer of the former Hull City man but has now moved his attention elsewhere, having recently made a personal check on Fiorentina’s Serbia international defensive rock Nikola Milenkovic.
