Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa says he must continue improving this season and is targeting more goals than the six he scored last term. The 21-year-old established himself as a first-team regular during the previous campaign and is now a firm fixture in Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri squad.

But the Genoa-born winger knows he cannot rest on his laurels and will be looking to increase his attacking and defensive contributions to the Fiorentina team. “My goal is definitely to do better than last season,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Last year I scored six goals, this year I’ll try to top it.
Seven or even more, the important thing is to play, to make good performances for the team, to win and to continue in this growth with Fiorentina.
“I am still stuck on two goals, so I will try to improve to bring more goals to my team, but also assists and defensive movements, so everything in general, I repeat, the important thing is to make the performance for the team.”
