Walters Drops Ipswich Hint

Jonathan Walters has indicated on social media that he is set to leave Burnley and return to Ipswich on loan until January. The Republic of Ireland international has struggled for action at Turf Moor since making the move from Stoke City in 2017, injuries restricting him to just five appearances for the Clarets last season.

Despite Sean Dyche’s ongoing injury problems, the 34-year-old has only been used once so far this term and now looks set to return to Ipswich in the hope of more regular action.

Walters posted a picture on Instagram on Thursday showing his satellite navigation system directing him towards Ipswich with the caption “Road Trip #takemehomecountryroad”.

It is understood Walters is undergoing a medical at Portman Road, where he has previously spent three years of his playing career between 2007 and 2010, ahead of joining on a six-month loan deal.
