Watford defender Jose Holebas has already turned his attention to Liverpool and insists dwelling on results is dangerous. The Hornets started 2018-19 positively, winning their opening four games but just two wins from their last eight has left them sliding down the standings.
They did claim an impressive 2-1 win over Tottenham during their early winning streak but that performance now seems like a distant memory.
Defeat away at Newcastle and a draw at Southampton – two of the Premier League’s struggling sides – has left a sour taste in the mouth as Watford head off for the international break.
Javi Gracia’s men host Liverpool when they return on November 24 and Holebas has called on his team-mates not to worry about previous results.
Holebas told the club’s official website: “We don’t have to look back [to the Spurs win], that is a mistake. “Last week we were unlucky at Newcastle and we lost 1-0 and today we came back to draw. Anything can happen in football. “We just have to be focused now on our job, listen to the coach’s ideas and look forward to the next game against Liverpool.”
