Troy Deeney has called on Watford to make life extremely “uncomfortable” for Manchester United on Saturday. The Hornets have started 2018-19 impressively with four wins from four Premier League outings.
Their next assignment comes against a Manchester United side who are firmly under the spotlight after winning just two of their opening four games.
Deeney wants Watford to play on United’s vulnerability and feels the late kick off will add even more to the atmosphere at Vicarage Road.
“They are one of those teams we enjoy playing against and it is a free hit,” Deeney told BBC 5 Live.
“Everyone will write us off and if we win the headlines are all about Jose [Mourinho] and how the Man United team is not as good as all the greats.
“It will be a good game for the neutral. On our tight pitch, it is a bit like a theatre because it is a late kick-off and the floodlights will be on.
“We can make it uncomfortable for them but we are not naive enough to think we are going to outplay them. We will play our game, implement our style and hopefully it will be enough on the day.”
