Westwood Storms through Field In Denmark

Lee Westwood will head into the final round of the Made in Denmark with a one-shot lead after a dramatic third day. The 45-year-old is seeking his first win in more than four years but he will face plenty of competition for the Made in Denmark crown.

Westwood sat two shots off the lead heading into Saturday’s action but he stormed to the top of the leaderboard after claiming five birdies in a row to open up a three-shot advantage.

However, it could have been even better as the former world number one ended his round with a double bogey to finish the day at 16-under overall.

Compatriot Steven Brown shot an impressive 63 to complete his round at 15-under, while Jonathan Thomson and Thomas Detry join him in a tie for second.

Dane Thorbjorn Olesen needs to finish in a tie for seventh or better to guarantee his place on Europe’s Ryder Cup team, but he sits well off the pace on seven-under.
