Chelsea are said to be ready to offer a new two-year deal to Brazilian star Willian in an effort to keep him at the club. The Blues have spent most of the summer trying to keep hold of the player with both Manchester United and Barcelona said to be keen to take him away and now they are to offer him a new deal in order to ensure he stays at Stamford Bridge.
They will be breaking club policy at the same time as players over 30 – Willian has just past that milestone – are normally offered just a one-year extension.
Willian has two years left on his current deal at the club which is said to be worth £120,000 a week but he can expect a significant pay rise with the new offer.
