Wolves defender Jonny could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury on international duty. The 24-year-old joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid over the summer and he has started all 12 of their Premier League games.
Jonny’s form at Molineux led to a first senior cap for Spain last month and he made his third appearance on Sunday.
However, he was forced off early in the second half of the 1-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina following a collision with Mo Besic.
Reports claim he left the stadium on crutches and Spain’s medical team have suggested he could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
A medical report published on the Spanish football federation’s website: said: “The player underwent an initial exploration in the dressing room and felt pain compatible with an injury to the collateral medial ligament, which, although pending confirmation, could be a grade two or three injury.
“He will undergo an x-ray to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other injuries, and his club will be informed of all developments.”
