Pablo Zabaleta has hailed Grady Diangana’s impressive rise into West Ham’s first team this season. With Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere all out injured for the Hammers, manager Manuel Pellegrini has made the decision to promote Diangana to the senior side.
The 20-year-old midfielder has made a positive impact in his four Premier League appearances and he provided an assist in the 4-2 victory against Brighton on Saturday at the London Stadium.
Argentine defender Zabaleta, who made his eighth outing of the campaign in that win over the Seagulls, believes his new team-mate has a big future ahead of him after showcasing his talents.
“Grady seems to be looking very dangerous, especially when he is in one-on-one situations,” he told the club’s official website. “He’s not scared and he shows personality to ask for the ball and to take people on and he looks very dangerous.
“Especially with the injury to Andriy Yarmolenko, the manager gave him a chance and he took it and he is showing that he wants to keep a place in the team, in the starting XI.”
