Zaha Delighted With Palace Extension

Wilfried Zaha says he is “very pleased” after signing a new five-year contract with Crystal Palace. Ivory Coast international Zaha was the subject of more transfer speculation this summer after an impressive 2017/18 campaign and it was believed Tottenham Hotspur were leading the race for his signature.

However, Spurs failed to get a deal over the line before last Thursday’s deadline and the 25-year-old has now put pen-to-paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.
“I’m very pleased. Obviously, I just wanted to get it over and done with, so I can just focus on the season. I’m buzzing that we managed to get it sorted,” Zaha told the club’s official website.

Palace chairman Steve Parish also reacted to the extension, saying: “Wilf grew up a stone’s throw from Selhurst Park from the age of four, and has been with the club since he was 12.
“This agreement is yet another example of his lifelong commitment to the club, and our commitment to him. This is an amazing day for everyone here at Palace, our supporters and of course Wilf – and is richly deserved.”
