By Johnny Edward: Nigerian striker, Blessing Eleke, is pleased to score his third league goal of the seasin for FC Ashdod who lost 3-1 to Beitar Jerusalem in the Israeli Premier League on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Eleke scored in the 10th minute to give FC Ashdod an early lead, but goals from Beitar’s Michael Seroshtan, Claudemir and Zion Tzemah condemned the relegation threatened FC Ashdod to their ninth defeat this season.
“I’m happy to have been on the scoresheet, but the results was not pleasing because of our position,” Eleke told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We need to go on a good run of games to avoid relegation at the end of the season.”
FC Ashdod are without a win since October, and currently occupy the 13th position in the Israeli Premier League log with eight points from 15 games.
Eleke and his teammates will face Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona away in their next game on the 31st of December.
