Arsenal forward Alexander Iwobi is excited at the impressive performance of the Super Eagles against the Hawks of Togo in Thursday’s friendly in Paris, France, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
A brace from Ahmed Musa and another strike from Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho ensured the Super Eagles spanked Togo 3-0 at the Stade Municipal de Saint La Foret.
Iwobi, 21, who provided two assists as the three-time African champions maintained their unbeaten run under coach Gernot Rohr, shared his delight via his official Twitter handle after the game.
He wrote: “Delighted with the win today, team put in a good performance. Happy to contribute with two assists. #SuperEagles.”
Iwobi, an English FA Cup winner with Arsenal this season, is expected to start the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo barring any last minute change or injury.
Iwobi has made 10 appearances for the Super Eagles since he made his debut for the Nigeria national team.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr handed official senior debuts to 10 players in against Togo.
They are Dele Alampasu,Tyronne Ebuehi, Chidozie Awaziem, Stephen Odey, Henry Onyekuru, Uche Agbo, Mikel Agu, Ibrahim Alhassan, Sikiru Olatunbosun and Victor Osimhen.
