Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes as Arsenal recorded a 3-2 Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Thursday.
The defeat was Roy Hodgson’s men’s first in their last nine games.
The Gunners however remain in the sixth position in the table despite the win.
German midfielder Shkodran Mustafi put Arsenal ahead in the 25th minute.
Alexander Lacazette whipped a fierce strike towards the far corner which Julian Speroni parried into the path of Mustafi who stroked the rebound into an empty net.
Andros Townsend levelled scores for the hosts four minutes after the break, slamming home Wilfred Zaha’s cross.
Arsenal retook the lead in the 63rd minute through Alexis Sanchez.
Lacazette lined up to take a shot inside the box but left it for Sanchez who fired a shot beyond Speroni.
Sanchez added the third three minutes later, sliding the ball past following a pin point cross by Theo Walcott.
James Tomkins reduced the deficit for the home side a minute before time.
