Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is looking forward to his club Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia which begins in mid-July.
Iwobi was in the Arsenal party for the the Barclays Asia Trophy in 2016 and made his debut against a Singapore Select XI.
“They’re 100 per cent behind us,” he told Arsenal Player on Friday.
“I didn’t know the fanbase of Arsenal Football Club was that big until we got there. It’s just crazy to know that we have fans all around the world.
“There were fans at the airport, fans at the hotel, just excited to see us. I was like, ‘Oh wow, I’m being recognised in Singapore’ and I didn’t even get that in London! It was just an amazing feeling.”
Fellow Nigerian and England youth international Chuba Akpom, Daniel Crowley, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Chris Willock and Gedion Zelalem are the other youngsters named in the club's Singapore squad for this summer.
“Especially for young players, it gives us a chance to go abroad, see what things are like with the first team,” Iwobi added.
“It also gives us a taste of the first team. As a young player, it’s definitely something you need to experience and take on board for the future."
Arsenal will begin their pre-season with two games in Australia against Sydney FC on July 13 and Western Sydney Wanderers on July 15 before they fly to China to take part in the International Champions Cup.
Arsene Wenger's team will face Bayern Munich at the Shanghai Stadium on July 19 before a clash against English Premier League champions Chelsea on July 22 at the Bird's Nest Stadium.
