Jesus Signs Two-Year Contract Extension At Man City

Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus has signed a new two year contract extension at Manchester City that will keep him at the club until 2023, the club announced on Friday.

Jesus, 21, arrived at Etihad Stadium side from Brazilian club Palmeiras for £27m in January 2017 and scored seven goals in 11 games in his debut season for the club.

He netted 17 goals in all competitions as City won the Premier League and the Carabao Cup last term.

Jesus was part of the Brazil team reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where they lost to Belgium.

He has described joining the club as the “best decision I’ve made in my life”.

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: “Gabriel is undoubtedly one of the best young forwards in world football.”

Jesus is expected to feature for Manchester City’s when they take on Chelaea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
