For Nigeria international, Joel Chukwuma Obi, it is the beginning a new dawn at his Italian Serie A side, Inter Milan.
Touted as one of the best young midfielders in the world when he made his Serie A debut for the Nerazurri on 17 October 2010 against Cagliari, the 23-year old has endured a torrid time in recent times, having to battle it out with a terrible injury that threatened to cut short his promising career.
He spent last season on loan at another Serie A side, Parma but was never a regular in coach Robero Donadoni’s team.
A return to his parent club was inevitable for the 2014/2015 season and the light skinned midfielder has gradually forced his way back to the first team.
The 23-year-old made his third straight start as Inter pipped Sampdoria 1-0 to get back to winning ways in midweek.Prior to Wednesday’s night game,he has also played from the start in games involving Napoli and Cesena.
This is the first time since 2011 that he has featured in three games in a row, injuries permitting, he is now an integral part of Mazzari’s midfield at Inter.
