–As Inter Milan tackle European champions
Back-to-fitness Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi will be looking to play a part when his Italian side, Inter Milan take on Real Madrid today in a pre-season friendly tie.
Obi who was dropped from Nigeria’s World Cup squad to the just concluded Mundial in Brazil
has been with the Serie A side who are currently on a training tour of the USA where they are also scheduled to play against Manchester United and Roma.
Obi’s mercurial rise for club and country was hampered by injury and the player was loaned to Parma where he played last season.
But having been included in Inter’s pre-season tour this term, the midfielder would be hoping to remain injury-free to enhance his chances of staking claim to a first team shirt with the Serie A side.
And having featured in the previous two pre-season games before the USA tour, playing against top opposition like Madrid would further his cause.
