Joel Obi On Target As Sassuolo Hold Torino

By James Agberebi: Nigeria midfielder Joel Obi was on target for Torino who were forced to a 1-1 draw away to Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A on Sunday.
The last time Obi scored for Torino was in a 2-1 home win against Cagliari in a league game on October 29, 2017.

He has now scored three league goals in 13 games for Torino this current campaign.

Obi gave Torino the lead in the 26th minute before Domenico Berardi equalised for Sassuolo on 54 minutes.

With the draw Torino now occupy the ninth position on 29 points in the 20-team league table.

Torino have now won just one of their last five league games (two draws, two losses).

Joel Obi is one of the few Nigerian players starting regularly for a first division club in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Hopefully, Gernot Rohr and the NFF have taken note. As a left-footed half-back he’ll be invaluable in the Super Eagles

Concur. Nigeria seriously need him in Russia. That he is ever present when fit is a testament to his qualities.

Torino have placed Joel Obi on the transfer market because they would rather have Ghanaian Midfielder Godfred Donsah of Bologna for €10m (Ten million euros).
Why would they sell him if he a prized asset?
