Nigerian-born British heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua on Sunday evening mourned victims of tragedies that have befallen several nations around the world in the past week, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Joshua is the International Boxing Federtion (IBF) and the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) unified worldd champion following his April 29 win against Wladimir Klitschko.
Joshua whose parents hail from Shagamu, Ogun State took to his Twitter account handle on Sunday: “Thinking of those who have been affected in all the tragedies worldwide right now. I pray for strength & unity in these tough times.”
Over 400 people died in Sierra Leone last week following devastating floods and mudslides, while at least 14 people were killed in twin terrorist attacks in Barcelona, Spain five days ago and the seaside resort of Cambrils.
Also there were deaths in terror attacks in Finland and a white supremacist march turned ugly in America.
