By Sulaiman Alao:
Foremost Nigerian football siblings, Kalu and Ikechukwu Uche will be ending the Spanish La Liga season on a high for their respective clubsides, Levante and Villareal.
Though their clubs have no silverwares to show in the league campaign that ends this weekend, nevertheless both modest clubs have attained their minimum targets for this season.
The elder of the brothers, Kalu returned to Spain to help Levante’s bid to avoid relegation and the former Nigerian international has scored 5 goals which has helped the side to retain their La Liga status.
Ikechukwu on his part has scored 6 goals to help Villareal who gained promotion to the elite division two seasons ago, retain their La Liga status and also book an Europa League slot.
The 5 & 6 brothers will be involved in what can be termed formalities games for their respective club this weekend. Kalu’s Levante will play host to Elche while Ikechukwu’s Villareal will go on the road trip against Athletic Club. Whatever the outcome of those two matches, the Uche Brothers can only celebrate having had a successful season.
