KAA Gent’s Nigerian forward, Samuel Kalu, has rued his side’s 1-1 away draw with Royal Antwerp in their first Belgian first division league game in 2018 on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
Kalu who made a return to the Buffaloes starting line-up after bagging a red card in Gent’s 1-0 loss to RSC Anderlecht in December, 2017 told his club’s official website that they were unlucky not to have won the match after going ahead with a goal in the 34th minute.
The 20 year old provided an assist for Roman Yaremchuk to score from close range, but Stallone Limbombe scored to earn Royal Antwerp a share of the spoils from the game.
“Roman was in the right place, I knew where to place it,” Kalu told his club’s official website after the game.
“It is a shame we did not take the three points home because it was what we deserved.
“I was glad that I could play again, after my red card against Anderlecht. And now, I look forward to the next match on Sunday.”
Kalu has featured in 18 league games for Gent in the current season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Gent are fourth in the table with 36 points from 23 games.
