By James Agberebi: Zambian football legend, Kalusha Bwalya says hosts of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) were worthy winners after they thrashed 10-man Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-0 in the final on Sunday I’m Casablanca, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
A brace from Zakaria Hadraf and a goal each from tournament leading scorer with goals, Ayoub Kaabi, and Walid El Karti, gave Morocco a deserved win.
Nigeria’s Peter Eneji who only made his first appearance in the tournament in the final against Morocco, was sent off for a second yellow card offence.
Morocco become the first country to host and win the CHAN since its inception in 2009.
Reacting to the outcome of the final, Bwalya remarks that the Moroccans showed hunger right from the start of the game.
“Good football from the hosts today. They were determined from the word go,” the 1988 African Footballer of the Year wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
