Kane On Target As Brighton Hold Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw in Tuesday’s English Premier League clash against Brighton Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Harry Kane scored the opener for Spurs two minutes after the restart but Mauricio Pochettino’s side were pegged back two minutes later when Pascal Gross fired in an equaliser from the penalty spot.

The result sees Tottenham maintain their grip on fourth spot but they move eight points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea in the race for the final top four race.
Brighton are 13th in the EPL table and are without a win in their last five matches. They now hold an eight-point gap ahead of the relegation positions.
Tottenham Hotspur made a slow start to the game and were lucky not to have conceded a goal in the 18th minute through Lewis Dunk.
Spurs were also let off the hook two minutes later when Lloris saved Anthony Knockaert’s deflected shot from distance.
The first half ended goalless but at the start of the second half Kane scored the first goal for Tottenham Hotspur two minutes after the restart, firing in Heung Min Son pass from close range for his 26th league goal of the season.
Gross levelled scores for Brighton two minutes later from the penalty spot after Tottenham right-back Sergei Aurier had fouled Jose Izquierdo inside the penalty area.
Tottenham will next take on Manchester United in the semi-final of the English FA Cup while Brighton will travel to Turf Moor face Burnley in the league.
