Former Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu, has sent a congratulatory message to former Arsenal team-mate, Tony Adams, who clocks 49 years today.
Kanu sent his goodwill message via his Twitter handle, describing the one-time Arsenal captain as a great team leader.
“Happy birthday Tony Adams, Mr Arsenal. Great captain and great leader.”
Born on October 10, 1966, Adams joined Arsenal in 1983 and retired from the club and also from professional football in 2002.
Adams who made his international debut for England in 1987, appeared in three European Championships (1988, 1996,2000) and one World Cup (France 1998) before retiring from international football.
He won four league titles, three FA Cups, two league Cups, one UEFA Cup Winners Cup and three FA Community Shield.
