Former Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu, has congratulated the U-23 Eagles after they held Congo to a 0-0 draw on Sunday to qualify for the African U-23 Championship 2-1 on aggregate.
He aslo hailed his former club Arsenal for beating Chelsea to win the FA Community Shield.
Reacting to the team’s qualification, Kanu also hailed coach Samson Siasia for leading the side to Senegal.
The Atlanta ’96 gold medallist wrote on his Twitter page: “Well done our Nigeria Dream Team. Well done to Siasia and the team.”
The U-23 Eagles took a slim 2-1 advantage to Pointe Noire and held their host to book a place at the African Championship in Senegal billed for November.
Before the African U-23 Championship, the U-23 Eagles will take part in the All Africa Games in Brazaville, Congo.
Kanu commended Arsenal for their victory. “Well done Arsenal,” he wrote moments after they defeated Chelsea 1-0.
