Shakhtar are third in the group G, two points adrift their visitors, Lyon but will be through if they win otherwise will drop to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 if they draw and Hoffenheim do not gain victory.

Kayode joined Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk on a permanent deal for 2.7 million pounds in July from Manchester City, whom he did not play a single match for before been shiped out on loan to Girona where he struggled before initially joining Shakhtar on loan.

In the same vein, Ubong Ukpai will be aiming to make his second UEFA Champions League appearance Viktoria Plzen host Roma on match day six. Ukpai has only seen 19 minutes of action in the competition this term.

He came on for Martin Zeman on his debut appearance in the competition in Viktoria Plzen’s 5-0 thumping in the hands of AS Roma in the reverse fixture.

Viktoria Plzen are currently third in Group G thanks to their superior head-to-head record against CSKA but they will clinch a UEFA Europa League round of 32 spot if they match the Russian side’s result.

CSKA also have four points from five games.

Really this guy plays like pius I only know him for those dwarf speed as for goals I don’t know o!

  • Waiting for Kayode to have a prolonged meaningful run as a Super Eagles international has become almost like waiting for the United States to declare Nigeria as a visa-free country.

    • He needs a prolonged and meaningful contribution in his club first. He started this season in September coming back from injury and has found game time hard to come by.

9 matches this season with only 172 minutes on the pitch (less that two whole matches worth of playing time. No goals no assists. Here is hoping that the second half of the season sees him tying down a starting spot with Shaktar Donetsk. Then we can look at him finding his way into the Super Eagles.

There are a couple of players who are finding their feet now with the first half of the season gone: Ezekiel Imoh and Abduljeleel Ajagun at Kortjik in the Belgian Premier league are starting to get game time. Ezekiel Henty at Osijek in Croatia and Samuel Adegbenro at Rosenberg are back from injury too,and have been finding the back of the net and getting playing time as well

Hopefully Kayode will follow suit and enhance his chances starting tomorrow in the champions league
