By Johnny Edward: Nigerian striker Kayode Olanrewaju admits he must start scoring for Girona as he looks to finally to break his duck against Celta Vigo on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Kayode scored 24 goals in 48 matches for Austria Vienna last season (17 goals in 33 Austrian league games) but is yet to score since his arrival from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal.
He joined Manchester City for £3 million from Austria Vienna on a four-year deal but has failed to score in six matches in LaLiga Santander.
“I know I’m here to score goals. It’s the job of the striker to score goals, so hopefully I can score the first and I’m sure it will be the first of many,” Kayode told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I’m trying to settle here and I’m waiting for the first goal and excited about that possibility.
“Hopefully, I can score against Celta de Vigo.”
Girona are 17th in the Spanish Primera División with five points from six games.
