Nigerian striker, Lanre Kehinde, has set himself a target of scoring more than the seven goals he scored for his Turkish Super Lig club MKE Ankaragucu last season, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Kehinde made his debut in the Turkish topflight division last Friday in Ankaragucu’s 3-1 loss to Galatasaray coming on as a late substitute in the defeat.
“We lost the first game in a manner we didn’t expect, but we have to put that behind us to ensure we record a win in our next game,” Kehinde told CSN after training on Tuesday from his base in Turkey.
The Nigerian striker hopes to get a starting role when Ankaragucu face Alanyaspor in their second league game and says that a win is non negotiable.
“The goals will come, surely, but now I want to think about the team first winning on Sunday which will be more boosting.
“Last season I scored seven goals one fewer than the previous one, so I pray I surpass my best ever tally this season.”
The 24 year old burly striker scored seven goals and provided three assists in the TFF Second League for MKE Ankaragucu last season as they gained promotion to the elite division.
Kehinde is in the final year of his contract with the club.
