Keshi, Enyeama Beg Nigerians: ‘We Are Very Sorry’

–Following team’s disgraceful loss in Sudan

Coach Stephen Keshi and captain Vincent Enyeama have apologised to Nigerians for a shock 1-0 loss to Sudan on Saturday.

The Super Eagles returned to the country on Sunday morning after the shock 0-1 loss to host Sudan in a crucial Nations Cup qualifier in Khartoum to a cold reception from Nigerians, which was expected, going by the passion Nigerians have for the game.

Keshi, who spoke first to a handful of sports journalists, said he was disappointed at the result like every other Nigerian, as he had hoped to use the game to kick-start Nigeria’s quest for a back to back Nations Cup trophy.

“I must ask you to help me apologise to Nigerians for this loss because they have so much belief in this team and here we are disappointing them,” Keshi said.

“The day was simply not ours, because we had a couple of early chances that we would have used to bury the game but the ball simply refused to enter into the net.

“Once again on behalf of the team I want to apologise to Nigerians and promise them we will make an immediate amend come Wednesday.

“This is the first time I am doing this in my entire career as a player and coach.”

Enyeama, spoke in a similar vein, appealing to Nigerians not to lose faith in the team.

“We didn’t go out there to lose to Sudan but it has happened and that is now history and I apologise on behalf of my teammates for that but we must quickly forgive and forget because we have a game on Wednesday and if we win that and our last two games, we will still be in Morocco,” he said confidently.

He said he has already spoken to his teammates and they have resolved that there will be no compromise in the battle for the nine points remaining in the next three games.

“Let Nigerians forgive us and also pray for us to win our remaining games,” he declared.

IT IS ALWAYS THE CASE, TO FORGIVE AND FORGET, LET ME REMIND YOU GUYS THAT WE CAN ONLY FORGET BUT NOT FORGET BCOS IT WILL ALWAYS RING IN OUR MEMORIES AND IT HAS GONE DOWN TO THE HISTORY BOOKS SO HISTORY CAN NEVER BE ERASED.

SO KESHI TODAY KNOW HOW TO ASK FOR FORGIVE, WHEN MILLIONS OF NIGERIANS WHERE ASKING HIM TO FORGET WHATEVER IS BETWEEN HIM , UCHE AND MARTINS AND INVITE THEM FOR A CRUCIAL MATCH BUT HE REFUSED AND WENT TO A BATTLE WITH HIGHLY INEXPERIENCE AND UNKNOWN FIGHTERS AND THINK IT IS ALWAYS GAMBLING. I THINK IT IS HIGH TIME THEY ASK HIM TO GO. KESHI IS DAMN TOO ARROGANT AND PUMPURSE.

AFTER BREAKING THE HEART OF MILLIONS OF NIGERIA ALL WE HEAR IS AM SORRY. YES YOU ARE SORRY AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THE PAST BUT FOR IT NOT TO HAPPEN AGAIN, I THINK AFTER WEDNESDAY, KESHI SHOULD BE RELEAVE OF HIS POST AND LOOK FOR A BETTER COACH WHO HAS TACTICAL OPTIONS AND NOT THE LONG BALLS STYLES OF PLAYING AND WHILE DOING THAT PLS LET IT NOT BE AMODU SHUAIBU.

IT IS TRUE WE WON THE AFCON,QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP BUT LET US ASK OUR SELF THIS QUESTIONS UNDER KESHI, HAS NIGERIA SCORE MORE THAT 2 GOALS? NO AND APART FROM IVORY COAST THAT WE WON IN AFCON PLS TELL ME WHICH TOP TEAM HAVE WE BEEN ABLE TO BEAT UNDER KESHI? NON. THE LAST 11 GAMES UNDER KESHI, LOST 5 DRAW 5 WIN 1 ( CONTROVERSIAL WIN AGAINST BOSNIA) THE RECORD HAS SHOWN WHAT HE CAN REALLY DO WHEN THE SHIPS ARE DOWN. LET PUT SENTIMENT ASIDE AND DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ONCE. KESHI HAS DONE HIS BEST BUT HIS BEST IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH SO LET HIM GIVE CHANCE TO SOMEONE ELSE.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA. GOD BLESS THE SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA.
