Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has revealed that he will have to snub some players in his provisional squad for the World Cup if harmony in camp is to be achieved.
Coming on the back of consecutive draws in friendly games, the former Togo and Mali boss told Complete Sports that he won’t hesitate to stick with his reliable players who won a third Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and those who helped him clinched the ticket for the Mundial in Brazil as they have been tested.
The quartet of Ramon Azeez, Michael Uchebo, Leon Balogun and Imoh Ezekiel were among the new players invited for the last friendly in Miami.
He also expressed his worries over some of his key players who are playing bit part roles in their respective clubs.
“We don’t need too many inclusions now because the team has fared well without these players peoples are clamoring for,” begins Keshi.
“It’s a two way thing, these players not playing regularly may suffer burn out in Brazil and also they may lack match fitness which is needed to win games,”
“But that will be properly looked into when the camp opens in America.
He also revealed that he won’t be inviting players that can easily bring disunity to the squad.
“Players with attitudes issues won’t stand a chance because we have little time to prepare,” he told Complete Sports.
Keshi is expected to submit his 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup latest May 13.Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
