By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
The much talked about signing of the new contract by Stephen Keshi earlier slated for last week in Abuja will now come up on Tuesday, Nigeria Football Federation officials have revealed.
According to official sources, the signing of the fresh contract could not hold last Friday because Keshi had not apologised to the NFF over the unsavoury statements he made about the NFF president.
Our source revealed further that following Keshi’s apology last Friday, NFF has now rescheduled the signing of the contract for Tuesday, April 21 in Abuja.
It was gathered further that Keshi has also agreed to work with the technical director Amodu Shuiabu and the technical study group and that all is set for the signing.
“Keshi has eaten the humble pie and I am confident that he will do the right thing by working in harmony with the NFF chieftains, coaches, media and players for the good of the country,” the source said.
“The NFF president Amaju Pinnick will not be available but the contract will be signed Tuesday because he has given his consent for the signing of the two-year contract and unveiling to go ahead for the same day.” On media speculation that Keshi has asked the NFF to replace one of his assistants Dan Amokachi, our source stated that the federation was not aware of such from the coach.
