Keshi: It’s Painful Missing Moses

–Super Eagles says the team will remain focused

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi says it is painful missing striker Victor Moses ahead of the African Cup of Nations double header qualifying matches against Sudan next week as the Nigeria international has been ruled out of the matches following the injury he sustained while on duty for Stoke City at the weekend in England.

The Chelsea star who is on loan to Stoke City is one of the 24 players invited by Coach Stephen Keshi for the encounters but last minutes injury ruled him out and the Big Boss has called up Dolphins striker Emem Eduok as replacement for the former Wigan forward.

Speaking on the striker’s injury, Keshi who helped Togo to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany said it is painful missing Moses but he won’t allow that to affect the morale of the team ahead of the crucial home and away games.

“Well, it is painful missing such player but we are focused and we will continue to pray for him. He was not there last time we played and we thought coming back will be an added advantage but with the latest development, we can only wish him speedy recovery”, says the Big Boss.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins star invited by Coach Stephen Keshi as a replacement for the injured striker has since acknowledged the invitation and he is expected to report at the Abuja camp any moment from now.

Complete Sports can also report that the African champions will depart the country’s shores on Thursday for the first leg scheduled to hold on Saturday while the second leg will be played in Abuja four days after.
