–Big Boss expresses fears over Astroturf and Sudan’s humid condition
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has raised the alarm over the hot weather in Sudan under which Nigeria will file out against the hosts in a crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
The Big Boss who said his players are coming from Europe which is relatively cold at the moment lamented that the game in Sudan will be decided under hot conditions.
“The match has been fixed for 8 pm (7 pm Nigeria time) but that does not mean the weather will be that favourable to us.
“The humidity will also be there so all put together I don’t think we’re going to have a good playing condition in Sudan.
“At that time, it will still be relatively hot for (my) players who are coming from Europe. But then, the game has been slated to hold on an Astro-turf which on itself is not favourable for us.
“We also have the altitude to contend with but then we have a mission to accomplish which is to get the three points which is what we’re going for,” Keshi added.
Keshi took his charges out on their first training session on Tuesday and are expected to fly to Sudan on Thursday on a chartered flight.
