Keshi ReadyTo Dump Eagles

–Says: I’m tired of waiting for NFF

Super Eagles head coach to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Stephen Keshi may have said his farewell to the team after he said he was tired of waiting for a new contract from the Nigeria Football Federation.

The representatives of the former Hawks of Togo coach have been locked in talks with the Nigeria football federation in a bid to agree terms for a new contract, but with anything yet to come out of the contract talks, Keshi may have decided to call it quits with the negotiations.

Keshi told BBC Sport he “cannot wait much longer”, adding “it should only take the 24 hours or 48 hours to agree a contract; this is taking too much time.

“I wish the team well because I cannot keep waiting for the NFF to offer me a new contract. My career has got to move forward.

“I have missed out on several offers with some national teams and now I cannot keep waiting,” Keshi said.

The negotiations between Keshi and the NFF have been protracted and have dragged on for weeks, with Keshi refusing the N5m monthly salary on offer by the Glass House. The former Super Eagles captain also says he cannot remain on the same terms as his previous contract.

“I cannot continue on the same terms as I did for over two years for the next four years. And if they (NFF) have offered me the same terms, it’s just them telling me they don’t want me again, it’s as simple as that,” Keshi added.

  • To be honest, NFF should let you know your faith. For me, I think we need a new coach to be in charge of d Super Eagles team. Our under17 and under20 for example, that’s how we want our Eagles to be. We need a sound coach. God bless Nigeria!

Mr Big Boss, please do not deceive us. I know you, if you have a better offer you would have long abandoned us. You have nowhere to go just wait for them. Maybe they would hire you or not. But I think we have seen your best and it is not good enough for where we want to go. Your team is always too disjointed for my liking.

  • Keshi ur future is at stake here, pls leave the criminals at the glass house with their wahala,if u have other opportunities go for it before is too late,God bless NIGERIA.

Our U17s have been in camp since last year, our U20s are always in camp for 5 to 7weeks before any qualifier. The super eagles always hav maximum of 5 days to train……and u want them to be like the U17s and U20s……..???
@Omo9ja stop goin to beer parlours…..!

I think Keshi needs to know that he is no longer needed to handle our National team. We are even better off without a coach than have an instigator like him handling football matters.
