Keshi Set For New Contract Talk With NFF

Keshi Set For New Contract Talk With NFF

Coach Stephen Keshi will be given a new contract by Nigeria despite failing to qualify the country for the 2015 AFCON, according to NFF Executive Committee member, Emeka Inyama, according to africafootball.com

There have been calls for Keshi to be replaced as the Super Eagles coach, just as Samson Siasia was disengaged three years ago when he failed to lead the team to the 2012 AFCON.

However, Keshi is now to be given a new contract according to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee member Emeka Inyama.

“The board has mandated the technical committee to finalise a contract for Keshi as he still remains the coach of Nigeria,” disclosed Inyama.

Keshi has handled the Eagles without a contract after his initial three-year deal ran out after the World Cup in Brazil.

A lingering leadership tussle that dogged Nigeria football in the past four months delayed the coach signing a new deal.

‘Big Boss’ Keshi was re-instated as Nigeria coach in October after the NFF executive committee led by Amaju Pinnick had initially replaced him with Shuaibu Amodu for AFCON qualifiers against Congo Brazzaville and South Africa.

it is totally unacceptable for NFF to consider stephen Keshi for re-appointment. if i may ask, what are the criteria considered for his re-appointment? it is important at this point in time for our football house do some home work. we need to know or establish the pattern of play our national team before considering the eligibility of Keshi. from what i have seen of him, he lacks the tactical and technical know how required to successfully coach our dear super eagles

Keshi has succeeded in carving out a reputation for himself. The reputation of a coach who is highly unwanted by the Eagle’s fans and enjoys consistent contronversial hallmark.

One thing is certain, Keshi’s alleged high demand among six African countries has proved a mirage. Also, the true impact of this Afcon miss will be evident when the tournament finally commence.

An Afcon miss is the death, but a new contract for Keshi is the burial of any hope for Super Eagles rejuvenation. Sorry Nigeria!

Keshi needs to come and coach Zambia, you naija people have no respect for this Naija legend, the only solid African coach that has worked under hardship conditions with the “OIL RICH country” that could not pay his salary for 6 month.

Keshi will never succeed as a coach.Sylvanus Okpala was instrumental to his AFCON success. After Sylavanus Okpala left how many matches have we won.Stephen Keshi is a football agent that will never compromise as far as his business interest is concern.Just like Arsenal under Wenger,Nigeria will continue watching the gradual conversion of Super Eagles to a Soccer Academy. This man should go because he is technically empty and highly sentimental in his selection of players.I know that poor results will surely force him out of Super Eagles, I pray let it not be too late.

  • I wonder what’s going in this country,so because keshi won the nations cup then he’ll turn to demi-god.World class coaches have won big tournament like world cup and still left because their pattern are no more working for the team.why should Nigeria be different, right from the world cup keshi has proved that he has nothing to offer to the national team but has been left to use our natonal team as his own personal business.Does it mean we’ll remain in this mess .Keshi has not played total football for Nigerians to enjoy our usual pattern of play.Presently,he’s the worst coach in Africa and everybody have seen it.Do we need to loose maybe to the least ranked team in the world for us to know how bad keshi is,Please Mr President do your job and leave our Football alone.Samson Siasia is 100% more technical than Keshi if we need to tell ourselves the gospel truth. If keshi is good then let another country or club go for him ,Please go Keshi,Nigeria football fans don’t want you anymorebecause you are just empty, please go

NFF should appointed Keshi Who care? let them appointed him as coach then may be after Benin Republic beat us again at our backing yard then they will know that he is not a good coach. Let NFF do whatever they like, it is not Keshi fault if not Good luck Jonathan fault who suppose to concentrate on how he will tackle the insecurity in the country but always focus on football I pray he will never win next election 2015 by God grace because the whole Nigerian has tired of his incompetent leader.

@raymond ezeala, you saying that Keshi won AFCON because of Okpala was a joke, your comment shows how myopic you are. I respect Sylvernus but he can’t be because of him Keshi won the AFCON. Can you tell me any team this your Okpala has coached before in Nigeria or outside. Someone like you will not seize to amaze people, please stop that your bear parlour comment here.

    @Marsh AKA Game147,
Nigerians like you are the only ones who refused to notice that Keshi was jobless in the U.S. for several months before he got this job. Secondly, no country (not even Chad republic) can accept him because of his patternless style of coaching. His motivational speechess to the players have finally become of no effect. Please guys, understand that luck can never be the set goal and expectation for champions.

If Keshi can not (after two three years) explain to Nigerians what pattern he is playing, then we will be left with no option than to call it “Play 5 win 1 pattern”.

Any coach worth his salt would have left after being booed by the Eagle’s fans in the stadium. When your audience lose confidence in you, whom are you trying to impress anymore? If possible, please give Keshi the last AFCON cup he won by mistake so that he can leave our Super Eagles alone. This is arrant selfishness on his part, holding Nigerians to ransome.

@Marsh,it is obvious you don’t know much about Super Eagles.
