Jurgen Klopp has joked that Manchester United fans would be delighted that Liverpool and Manchester City were drawn against each other in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpol will host City in the first leg of their quarter-final clash before travelling to the Etihad for the reverse fixture.
In their last meeting at Anfield in this season’s Premier League, Liverpool edged City 4-3 after suffering a 5-0 humiliation at the Etihad.
“I think it’s an absolute dream draw… for all Manchester United fans!” Klopp said during his press conference on Friday.
Commenting on Liverpool’s league fixture against Watford, Klopp said the Hornets’ performance against Arsenal despite losing 3-0 should not be overlooked.
“We keep the revenge feeling during the week as we want to go back to the winning side,” he added.
“I watched Arsenal against Watford, it was 3-0 but it was not a 3-0 game. It was a different game. Watford caused them a lot of problems and they are in a good momentum results wise.
“We respect them but we have our targets and at home it should make it especially difficult for our opponents.”
And on the defeat to Manchester United, Klopp said: “We use it as motivation, for sure. In professional football you need to be a little bit angry to bring your best on the pitch.”
