La Liga Round 14 Preview: Sevilla Look To Maintain Advantage At Top Of Table At Alaves

Meanwhile, Real Madrid look to get back on track against Valencia, whilst Atletico head to Girona

It continues to be a tense ride in Spain’s La Liga with no fewer than six sides vying for the domestic crown. And this coming weekend promises to throw up more mouth-watering action, with Real Madrid hoping to get back to winning ways at home to Valencia, while city rivals Atletico are at Girona and current table toppers Sevilla look to hold on to top spot away to Alaves.

First things first

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, Real Madrid host Valencia this coming Saturday (1 December). Real come into this match on the back of a 2-0 win away to AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League, and they could move up to third with victory here – temporarily, at least.

However, the Madrid club were thrashed 3-0 by Eibar last time out in La Liga and will be looking to bounce back here. Valencia have won their last two league outings but still struggle to score goals, and we are expecting them to have a torrid time of it in this encounter.

And it is hardly surprising that it is Real who come into this clash as the overwhelming favourites to take all three points. You can back the home side to win at just 1.44, while Valencia are all the way out at 7.00 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.75, according to Oddsshark.

And Real should win this match with relative ease. A 3-0 win for Los Blancos is priced competitively at 10.00, thereby offering a ten-fold return on any investment, while you can more than double your money by backing a “No” to both teams scoring, which is priced at 2.10.

Atletico could go top with win at Girona

The following day, Atletico Madrid head to Girona knowing that a win could well take them to the top of the table, depending on how other results go. However, they will be up against a side with aspirations of their own.

Girona currently sit seventh in the table – level on points with Real Madrid – and are unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions. However, their biggest problem has been scoring goals, and with a defence as stringent as Atletico’s they may have little luck on Sunday.

Atletico, by way of comparison, are third in the standings and just two points off first place. They have the best defensive record in the division and would be more than happy with an efficient, unspectacular victory.

And it is indeed Atletico who come into this match as the favourites to pick up the win. You can back the visitors to take all three points at just 1.75 while Girona, despite home advantage, are out at 5.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.40.

A comfortable, 2-0 win for Atletico is priced at 7.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$35 pay out. You could also more than double your money by backing a combo bet of an Atletico victory and a “No” to both teams scoring, which is at 2.50.

Sevilla out to keep top spot

And finally, Sevilla head to Alaves looking to hand on to top spot in the league. Sevilla have collected 26 points from 13 games and sit a point ahead of Barcelona, the current champions.

Alaves, however, have made an excellent start to the season themselves and are in fourth, just three points behind the table toppers. That means a win on Sunday could move them level with Sevilla.

But it is the visitors who come in as the favourites to claim bragging rights. You can double your money by backing Sevilla to snatch the points at 2.00, with Alaves out at 3.60 to do the same – a draw is at the same odds.

And we are expecting Sevilla to keep their impressive run of form going. A narrow, 2-1 win for the away side comes in at 8.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$42.50 pay out, while you could almost quadruple your money by backing a combo bet of an away victory and both teams to score, at 3.75.
