The 2018/19 Lagos Barcelona academy will kick off on the 10th September, 2018 organisers of the league have informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
The academy season, which is the third in a series, offers students between five to 18 years the opportunity to learn the values and methodology of FC Barcelona, whose brand of football is known and well respected worldwide.
Leslie Oghomienor, the Chairman of the academy in Lagos also hinted that there are plans to bring an ex- Barcelona player for a football clinic before the end of the year.
“From our experience of the last season, we have discovered that there are a lot of young talents with the passion to be future legends,” Leslie Oghomienor, the Chairman of the academy in Lagos told CSN in a media conference.
“This season will start 10 September 2018, its a 10 months season meaning the season will end July 2019.
“We will go the extra mile to discover and grow talents and expose them to more tested global tournaments, which are of immense value to all parties involved and we hope to bring a couple of ex Barca players to educate these young players which we will can inspire them as well.”
“We hope to achieve this new vision without relegating the teachings of the Barca values to the background.”
